PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Activated phosphoinositide 3-kinase delta syndrome (APDS) is a rare primary immunodeficiency caused by gain-of-function mutations in the PIK3CD and PIK3R1 genes, resulting in immune dysregulation, recurrent infections, lymphoproliferation, and autoimmunity. Traditional care has focused on symptom management without addressing the underlying disease. However, the introduction of targeted therapy (specifically the PI3Kδ inhibitor leniolisib) has shifted the treatment paradigm toward disease modification. Given the heterogeneity in APDS presentation and treatment response, individualized care and shared decision-making are essential to optimizing health outcomes.

We invite you to join us for a Challenging Case Activity, where expert faculty will explore strategies for personalizing APDS management, with a focus on key treatment considerations and the latest clinical evidence.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity has been designed to meet the needs of allergists, immunologists, and specialty nurse practitioners and physician associates that manage patients with APDS.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the signs, symptoms, and clinical manifestations of APDS
  • Implement treatment plans for patients with APDS that incorporate targeted treatment
