PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare, bradykinin-mediated disorder characterized by recurrent, painful swelling episodes that can impair daily function and, in some cases, pose a risk of mortality. In recent years, the management of acute HAE attacks has advanced considerably, with multiple on-demand treatment options now available, including C1 inhibitor (C1-INH) replacement, bradykinin B2 receptor antagonists, and kallikrein inhibitors. Given the variability in symptoms and differences in individual lifestyles, a patient-centered approach is critical to achieving effective disease control and improving quality of life.

We invite you to join us for a Challenging Case Activity, where expert faculty will share practical insights on personalizing on-demand HAE treatment. The session will also include a review of clinical trial data supporting these individualized strategies.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity has been designed to meet the needs of allergists, immunologists, and specialty nurse practitioners and physician associates that manage patients with HAE.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze the benefits and risk of currently available and developmental therapies for the treatment of acute HAE attacks
  • Implement shared decision making for the individualized selection of treatment for patients at risk for acute HAE attacks
